⁂ The Problem
Despite 34.5 million people being reported as food insecure by the USDA, food remains the single largest category of item found in municipal landfills with 40% of all food in the US going to waste.
Often, this global issue is also reflected in our local communities. In Athens, Georgia, the majority of residents landfill their wasted food alternatives being available. Quantivitely, this disconnect equals to over 60 tons of wasted food per day.
⁂ Project - Crumby: A Wasted Food Awareness Initiative
Crumby is senior thesis project developed to explore how branding can promote eco-concious habits. Our key purpose was familiarizing Athenians with the the unique wasted food resources available in their county.
